- contains gyromitrin converting to monomethylhydrazine in body
Symptoms & Toxicity
Gyromitrin toxin metabolizes to monomethylhydrazine. Delayed onset 6–12 hours: nausea, vomiting, hemolytic anemia, liver and kidney failure. Toxic by ingestion and potentially by inhalation of vapors. Can be fatal. Call 911 immediately.
