Key Identification Features
- Cap 5-20 cm, pale grayish to yellowish-white. Gills initially white, turning PINK with age as pink spores mature. Stout white stem. Mealy/floury odor. Pink spore print — diagnostic. Grows in woodland and parks. Confused with edible field mushrooms and St. George's Mushroom.
Symptoms & Toxicity
Onset 30 min-3 hr: severe GI distress — nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea. Usually self-limiting but can be severe.
